Mayor Chris Homer thanked the community, saying:

What happens next?

Shellharbour City Council has officially adopted its full suite of Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) documents, setting a clear direction for the city’s future. These plans were shaped by strong community input and include:

  • Shellharbour 2035 Community Strategic Plan
  • Delivery Program 2025–2029
  • Operational Plan 2025–2026
  • Annual Budget
  • Fees and Charges
  • Resourcing Strategy 2025–2035
  • Rates Policy

In the 2025–2026 budget, Council has set aside $76 million to improve the city. This includes big projects like extending Tripoli Way, building the Shellharbour Boatyard, and upgrading parks, playgrounds, paths, and cycleways. To help pay for these improvements and keep services running, Council has approved a 4% rate increase, which follows the NSW Government’s guidelines. These plans are about making sure Shellharbour stays a great place to live, work, and enjoy.
