Background

The Shellharbour Cemetery Masterplan is our long-term vision to enhance the function, appearance, and accessibility of the cemetery.

In 2021, the previous Masterplan was adopted as the foundation for future developments. Building on that, we reviewed current operations, gathered feedback from staff, community stakeholders and consulted heritage experts. This process led to a revised plan that refines key elements such as:

• Shelter & Amenities: The shelter has been repositioned to better serve visitors and protect heritage features.
• Burial Layout: Infill grave configurations have been revamped for improved access and sustainability.
• Landscaping: Revised planting, and access routes ensure a respectful, welcoming environment.

Where We’re At Now

We are now on public exhibition with the revised Masterplan. This is your opportunity to review our updates and provide feedback so we can continue refining the plan to best serve the Shellharbour community.
