Extending the swim season at Oak flats pools

In response to community requests and feedback, Oak Flats 50m pool swim season was extended this year as part of a trial.

Council recently invested in a heating system for the 50m pool. This provided consistent heating of the 50m pool to an average of 25 degrees, creating comfortable swimming conditions well into the cooler months.

Council took the opportunity to trial extending the swim season to 25 June. The trail provided us with useful data by checking both the heating efficiency and cost to help us gain better understanding of usage.
