Bass Point Reserve is a unique location which requires a strong commitment to conservation management and protection.

This is a shared commitment between Shellharbour City Council, State Government, and you - our community.

The draft Bass Point Reserve Conservation Management Plan (CMP) was on public exhibition from 7 December 2023 to 17 January 2024. It was an opportunity for you to have your say on how Bass Point can best be managed and protected for generations to come. Thank you to everyone who contributed!

The feedback we received was generally supportive of the draft Bass Point CMP, reiterating the need for stronger protection and maintenance of the site. Some minor changes have been made to the draft CMP to capture this feedback, with the key themes highlighted below.

The Bass Point Reserve Conservation Management Plan was adopted by Council at its 28 May 2024 Council meeting.

Conservation Management Plans (CMPs) are principal guiding documents for the conservation and management of a heritage place. This document will inform future plans for the site.
