What we heard from Eco Eats & Beats

3 December 2024

What we did & why?

A big thank you to everyone who joined us at the Eco Eats and Beats Festival in Warilla Town Centre!

This event was made possible through the Open Street Program grant funding, secured by Shellharbour City Council from the NSW Government. The program’s goal is to temporarily close streets to vehicles and open them up for placemaking activities, creating vibrant spaces for people to connect and enjoy.

From 10 October 2024, we:

  • Consulted with approximately 30 Warilla town centre businesses and informed nearly 500 residents near Beverley Avenue.
  • Promoted the festival 43 times across Shellharbour City Council social media platforms, reaching a wide audience throughout the city.
  • Sponsored radio commercials by Wave FM three weeks leading up to the event.
  • Installed over 30 branded signs across the city including corflutes on bins and seats, large stickers at bus shelters and gateway signage.

The Eco Eats and Beats Festival was an exciting opportunity to activate Warilla’s upgraded town centre and also engage with the community on important themes around sustainability, sparking conversations that matter for our future.
