🌱 30,103 Plants Growing Strong!

13 March 2026

In February 2026, planting was officially completed, with a total of 30,103 plants now taking root across the project area! These plants are in the ground at two locations:

  • Blackbutt had 15,739 planted
  • Croome had 14,364 planted

This incredible effort marks a major milestone in restoring and expanding high‑quality habitat and a food source for the Grey‑headed Flying Fox. These nationally listed vulnerable species rely on native, resilient vegetation for roosting and feeding.

With planting complete, the next phase of the project shifts to monitoring and maintenance, ensuring each plant receives the care it needs to thrive. Activities will include weed control, watering, and checking plant health to support strong early growth. Over time, these young plants will develop into a flourishing canopy, offering shelter, food sources, and important ecological connections.

Together, these actions will help the site grow into a well‑established habitat—one that’s healthy, resilient, and reaching maturi‑tree!
