The upgrades to the Albion park Showground are complete! Thank you for following along on this project.
Find out what's planned
Soon work will be commencing on upgrading the access roads and car park areas at Albion Park Showground. Cleary Bros has been awarded the construction contract and works are planned to commence on site in late April, with expected completion by early June.
Check out the map below to see what's proposed.
What are the upgrades?
- Reseal current sealed area with asphalt
- Lay crushed rock base and spray seal, to access roads also, including behind Cricket Pavillion, Tennis Club carpark
- Formalise carpark area by laying crushed rock base, asphalt seal and linemarking
- Timber posts will be installed to protect existing trees
It is not anticipated that there will be any disruption to local access except for within the Showground itself, you may notice additional construction traffic movement and construction noise at times. We are working with the contractor to minimise disruptions to surrounding businesses.
We understand that the current community and working environment is vastly different at the moment. Council believes it is important to deliver on key community projects as long as it is safe and appropriate to do so. We will continue to deliver on projects and outcomes for the community, adopting a “Same service. Delivered differently” approach.
This means that, as part of Work Health and Safety requirements, our staff and our contractors will be implementing safety measures to minimise the risk of COVID-19 virus transfer. To help ensure the health and safety of Council staff and contractors, we ask that no direct face to face communications take place with workers on this work site. Instead, please address all correspondence to Council by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 4221 6111.
When will work commence?
We are aiming to commence work by the end of April and be completed by June 2020.
