After the significant ocean swells and storm activity in the middle of the year, Coastwide Civil and SMEC have carried out inspections on the lowest section of the Seawall at the far north end, which had previously been concealed by more than three metres of sand.

Inspection activities using machinery will continue over the next four weeks depending on weather conditions and favourable tides, working north to south.

The current compound, site shed and machinery will be removed in December 2024 in preparation for the summer holiday period. Coastwide Civil will return in 2025, after the school holiday period ends, to carry out further activities.
