Recently we consulted with the community regarding this project.

We received 224 votes for the stair locations and a number of enquiries about the project. We would like to thank those who contributed via Lets Chat.

Tom Strong Reserve was the preferred location for the third set of access stairs. Based on this, Council will now progress with the design of the stairs. Geotechnical investigations will now commence on Monday 28 February 2022 and is anticipated to be completed in four (4) days. These investigations will inform the design and foundations required for the access stairs.

Controls will be in place during these investigations for the protection of workers and the community. Access along the beach and the shared path will not be impacted by these works.
