Let's Communicate, Let's Engage

We're updating our Communications & Engagement Strategy to make sure it still reflects the needs of our community.

The current strategy seeks to build on Council’s strong foundation of Communication and Engagement. We want to make sure that:

  • Our communication is creative, innovative and engaging.
  • We are proactive while maintaining responsiveness. Our interactions are genuine and human.
  • We listen to our communities, respect their views and respond openly and transparently.
  • Our staff and Councillors are informed and empowered to communicate effectively.
  • We strive for continuous improvement.

The new strategy has been developed considering the above aims and your feedback.

Our Draft Communications & Engagement strategy 2025-2029 is on public exhibition now! This means we want your feedback on the draft plan, its focus area and actions to make sure we’re on the right track. You can read the draft strategy above.

­Formal submissions must be made to provide feedback, read the details below under ‘Make a submission’. Submissions must be received by 4pm 30 January 2025.

Public Exhibitions

Before making a submission, we encourage you to read over the Petitions and Submissions Policy and Submissions Procedure. By reading these documents you will familiarise yourself with the submission process and ensure that your submission is valid. Your personal information contained in your submission is collected by Council for the purpose of corresponding with you about your submission. If you make an anonymous submission, Council will be unable to contact you further. A summary of the points made in your submission will be contained in the Council meetings business paper and made public on Council’s website, your personal information will not be displayed. Check the Privacy Statement for further information.
