Albion Park Rail - Croom is bounded by the Macquarie Rivulet and Lake Illawarra in the north; the Horsley Creek, the railway line and James Road in the east; the locality of Dunmore and the Municipality of Kiama in the south; and Frazers Creek, the western boundary of the Illawarra Regional Airport and the Macquarie Rivulet in the west.

Albion Park Rail is a busy industrial suburb and home to Shellharbour Airport. Shellharbour Airport operates flights to Melbourne and Brisbane through Link Airways.

The Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) Museum and workshop are also located within the airport and are open daily for guided tours.

Wings Over Illawarra is another popular attraction to Albion Park Rail. The airshow is held annually and is a great day out for families and aviation enthusiasts. There are carnival rides, food trucks, aircraft displays, car exhibits and helicopter joy flights.

Albion Park Rail boasts a range of community parks and sports fields that keep the community active the highlight of which is the new play space as McDonald Park.
