Playground Design reveal
In February and March, we asked for your feedback on two concept designs for this playground. You (the community) told us that 82% preferred Concept 1! The final playground design includes:
- Adventure play tower as depicted in Concept 1
- Double Swing - with nest
- Wave rider rocking boat
- Imagination activity panel
- Nature Discovery Play
- Informal and formal seating
- Additional Natural Shade

About the Park
Elloura Park, Warilla
Elloura Park on Helen Street is a 'local' park located in a suburban area on the eastern side of Warilla. This playground has been used by local families and those who are within walking distance of the park.
The current playground will be renewed and Council wants to hear from the community what the space might look like. Take the time to provide feedback and help us create a space for everyone to enjoy!
In April 2024 Shellharbour City Council visited primary schools in the area to ask students what they want to see in local parks and playgrounds. Council staff ran a workshop on play with students from Stage 2.
For Elloura Park, we asked 60 students from Stage 2 (Year 3 and 4) of Lake South Primary School to share their feedback on what should be included. Most students told us they want active, challenging and adventurous play-based equipment at their local parks.
