Playground design revealed!

In February, we asked for your feedback on two concept designs for this playground. You (the community) told us you liked both equally as much, with the vote resulting in a tie! So we combined the best elements of both concepts and added some desired elements in response to your feedback. These additions include:

• A larger shade structure on the main play unit
• Climbing activities that are more challenging for the bigger kids
• More Softfall for accessibility to play panels at the bottom of the unit, for inclusive play and young children.

Hegarty Park, Albion Park

Hegarty Park Playground Albion Park (Moles Street) is a 'local' park located within a suburban area to the west of the suburb. This location has been a well loved location for local families.

The current playground will be renewed and Council wants to hear from the community about what the space might look like. Take some time to complete the survey and share your feedback now!

In April 2024 Shellharbour City Council visited primary schools in the area to ask students what they want to see in local parks and playgrounds. Council staff ran a workshop on play with students from Stage 2 (Years 3 and 4).

For Hegarty Park, we asked 55 students from Year 4 of St Paul's Albion Park to share their feedback on what should be included. The ideas we heard revolved around creating an active playground with designated areas to chill and relax.
