About the design

We are excited to share the new play space designs for Ski Way Park. The new play space incorporates opportunities for varying levels of play. Sandstone blocks compliment the nature play area and offer informal seating area.

The new play space will include:

  • Fusion combination climber with slippery slide
  • Climbing cube includes rope and rock climbing experience
  • Nest swing
  • Rubber softfall
  • Nature play elements include: alligator crossing logs, hopping logs, adventure trail tread and log jumps

The new play space will have footpath connectivity and will be fenced. The existing old play equipment will be removed.

About the location

Ski Way Park is a district park located on the foreshore of Lake Illawarra. The space caters for a range of uses and is a popular location for visitors and residents.

Existing facilities includes a boat ramp, parking, BBQ, seating options and public toilets. Last year a series of upgrades were completed including;

  • renewed promenade and boardwalk
  • rock armour protection work
  • kayak ramp
  • exercise equipment station
  • water bubbler with dog drinking bowl
  • fish cleaning table
