More than 900 people told us what they thought about our suggestions for dog friendly beaches. Out of this feedback, more than 84% said that in general, they supported dog friendly beaches. To see what we heard from this feedback take a look at the engagement results document to the right.

At the council meeting of 16 November, 2021 Council resolved to endorse Kiyong Beach, Reddall Reserve and part of Shellharbour North Beach for further investigation.

The next step in the project is conducting a “Review of Environmental Factors” (REF) in accordance with Part 5 assessment under the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979.

Community engagement results including the options of on-leash or timed areas have informed these investigations; and the (REF) documents are currently being prepared by Council staff.
