Work has temporarily stopped

28 September 2020

Work has temporarily stopped on the Reddall Reserve play space project.

Parts of the foreshore area are recognised for their cultural and historical significance. During the construction process the contractor uncovered shells and shell fragments, which must now be correctly identified.

The shells and fragments may be culturally significant and we are working within the legislative framework to identify the discovery. We will continue to work with Heritage NSW and await their advice before proceeding at this site.

In the meantime, the site will be protected and Council is exploring measures for dust control.
