June Project Update

4 June 2024

Since our last project update, a few changes have occurred for Terry Street's proposed road safety improvements:

  • We've finalised detailed designs for the project. Feedback from the community received between 2021-2022 was reviewed and where appropriate, that feedback was considered and incorporated as part of the final designs. Thank you to everyone who contributed.
  • Unfortunately, due to delays and the additional cost of the project, Council was unsuccessful in securing the necessary grant funding for the project to proceed at this time. However, we remain committed to planning and delivering this project in the future.

Until new grant funding opportunities are available, we'll continue working on smaller road safety improvements along Terry Street and surrounding streets, which may include footpaths, pedestrian refuges, signage and line marking.

As part of the road safety improvements for the area, a pedestrian refuge is currently being installed along Simpson Parade (approaching Terry Street) with works scheduled to be completed soon. Whilst works are underway, please be extra vigilant of changed traffic conditions and other road users.
