What happened at Oak Flats Library?

The Library was retained at its current location with improvements to accessibility and interior layout.

The main changes you will see:

  • The vacant block next to the library will be converted to a welcoming courtyard entrance for the library
  • The main entry will be via accessible automatic doors
  • The main entry wall will feature a large scale mural
  • Improved layout to create a lounge seating area
  • Provision of accessible bathroom

These changes will provide a much needed refresh with better equipped spaces for activities, programs and technology.

Accessing Library services during temporary closure

During the temporary closure of our Oak Flats Library customers will be warmly welcomed at our other Council libraries: City Library, Warilla Library and Albion Park Library. After-hours return facilities are available at City Library and Warilla Library. Please visit Shellharbour City Libraries for details of library opening hours and current services.
